Trenton Spears leads The Pack to victory in Hockey Season Opener

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The combined forces of the West Valley and Lathrop hockey teams, known collectively as the Pack, hit the ice for the first time yesterday with a match-up against the North Pole Patriots.
The Pack were victorious in this season opener, bringing home a 6-2 victory.
They jumped out to a 2-goal lead and one player was solely responsible.
Trenton Spears got the hot start going with an unassisted goal less than twenty seconds into the opening period.
Spears then struck again in the first period to build an early advantage.
Overall, Spears would finish with four out of the six goals for the pack while Andrew Troppmann and Reid Wener accounted for the other two.
Alexys Summar and Michael Swarner shared the win in goal.
Summar finished the day with 20 saves and Swarner earned 8.
The Patriots earned their two goals from Hunter Matteson and Seth Theriault.
