FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Whether it be long passes, hard spikes, or trick plays, it was a great week for our Interior Teams.
Let's take a look at this week's I-5.
"Starting off this week's list is Eielson Runningback Ryan Armour, who takes the handoff so fast that he even fools the cameraman, then sprints 84 yards to the endzone. Armour finished the day with 290 yards rushing and four touchdowns.
Next up is this perfectly placed kill by Lathrop Senior Maya Pelayo. Pelayo sends this one all the way to the other side of the court for the set point. Lathrop would go on to defeat North Pole in their first conference game of the year.
At Number 3 is Monroe Catholic's Isaac Minnema who picks off Nikiski's Quarterback and takes it all the way into the Endzone. What makes this play even more impressive was that this was Minnema's second pick-6 of the night.
At Number two is Lathrop Quarterback Aniya Tuck, who scrambles a bit in the pocket before planting her feet and bombing this one into the back of the endzone. Saige Borrego then oureaches two Hutch defenders to bring it down.
And Number 1 for the week is the Malemute Special. Quarterback Jaden Littell walks up to the line, seemingly to talk to his offensive line. The center then snaps the ball to Runningback Bubba Maschmeier, who laterals the ball to Jarren Littell, who finds his brother in the endzone for six points. This was part of Lathrop's 70-0 Mayor's Bowl victory over North Pole."
