FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Allie Ostrander, of Kenai, has forever etched her name in the NCAA record books.
On June 8, the Alaskan standout won her third consecutive steeplechase National Championship, the first woman to ever accomplish the feat.
Ostrander was battling 98 degree heat in humid Austin Texas, but the Alaskan stayed cool, setting a personal best time of 9 minutes and 37 seconds.
Ostrander still holds high school state records here in both the 16 hundred and 32 hundred meter races.
As just a junior at Boise State, Ostrander still has one more year to collect accolades.
