State Softball tournament opens with Pool Play round

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Softball championships also saw their first action today.
The West Valley Wolfpack were once again our first Interior team in action, and once again fell to an Anchorage team. ​
The Dimond Lynx defeated the Wolfpack 14-9. ​
This one was tied at seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning but Dimond exploded for five runs in the sixth, and two more in the seventh. ​
Maddie Moser led the Lynx with a 3 for 4 effort at bat with two RBIs. ​
Madison Fisher led West Valley with two RBIs and a score. ​
In other pool play action, Sitka defeated Delta Junction 12-7. ​
The Pool play round will wrap up tonight. ​
The records for each team when this round comes to an end will decide the seeding for the Bracket rounds, which start tomorrow.
