State Baseball championships begin in Anchorage

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Baseball Championships began this morning.
The first interior team in action was the West Valley Wolfpack, who fell 10-0 to the West Anchorage Eagles. ​
West hung up at least one run in each of the six innings played. ​
They scored two in the first, one in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one more in the sixth. ​
Luke Langnes led the Eagles with four 4 RBIs and two runs while going a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. ​
This is a double-elimination tournament so West Valley will now be playing in the consolation bracket. ​
Earlier tournament action saw Ketchikan defeat Colony 10-3. ​
There are still two more games set for the night. ​
Juneau-Douglas will play Wasilla and the main event will see Chugiak play North Pole. ​
