FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Our two Legion Baseball teams once again squared off across the street from Growden Park last night.
This time it was the North Pole Post 30 Wild defeating the Fairbanks Post 11 49ers in dramatic fashion.
The Wild walked off with a 6-5 victory.
The Wild held a 5-0 lead after the first four innings, which is when the 49ers started to Rally.
The Niners hung up 2 runs in the top of the fifth and three more in the top of the seventh to tie it up.
Post 30 held the Niners scoreless in the top of the ninth inning, setting themselves up for a walkoff.
With one runner on, Alex Staker dinged an RBI triple into center field to bring home Dustin Peterson in the game-winning run.
Hatcher Wendt was actually the RBI leader for the Wild, finishing with two.
Peterson earned the win on the mound, striking out three in 3.1 innings and only allowing 3 hits.
