Playoff fates for Lathrop and West Valley Football teams to be decided in Dog Bowl

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - All five of our Interior Football teams will be playing this weekend and four will be playing each other, with a lot on the line.
The biggest game of the football season will be tomorrow night when West Valley hosts Lathrop in the Dog Bowl.
This year, the game is more or less the Railbelt Conference Championship.
If Lathrop is victorious, they will go into the playoffs as the Conference Champions and the Number 1 seed.
A West Valley Victory is where things get interesting.
The Wolfpack more or less have to win the conference to get into the playoffs.
To do so, they have to beat Lathrop by 5 or more points to clear the tie-breakers between these two teams and the Palmer Moose.
If this happens, Palmer will be eliminated from Playoff contention.
However, if West Valley wins by four or less, then it will be Lathrop and Palmer in the playoffs.
Either way, one or both of these teams will be making the post-season, with a shot at the State Championship.
Another game with playoff implications is the Division 3 contest between Monroe and Eielson.
The Ravens, who are sitting at 5-1 this year, will lock in the number one seed in the Aurora with a victory.
The Rams, who lost to barrow earlier this year, would need a win and a barrow loss to make it into the postseason.
That game is on Saturday at 1pm.
The North Pole Patriots will also be in action this weekend and, while others may be looking to keep their season alive, the Pats know their final game of the year will be on Friday Night in Kodiak.
The Patriots are 0-7 this year and will look for their only win of the season against the 2-4 Kodiak Bears.
