Panners outlast Waves

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Goldpanners were tested by San Diego Friday night but came away with an 11-10 win over the Waves in yet another narrow victory.

The two squads combined for 26 hits and 10 errors in the contest

Ben McKay set the high scoring pace in the first innning, blasting a three run shot for the Panners, their first home run of the young season.

The sophomore out of Wenatchee Valley finished the game with five RBI's, while designated hitter Cole Carder added two more.

Tanner Inouye (In-ew-ee), the right hander from Honolulu, got the win on the mound in his first appearance as a Goldpanner.

Connor Konishi collected the save, while also producing two hits and a pair of RBI's at the plate.

Griffin McCormick went a perfect 3 for 3 with a run batting in for Alaska.

The Panners now lead the seven game series, 2-1.

The two teams face each other Sunday at 3 p.m. at Growden Memorial Park.
