FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Goldpanners were able to earn their third consecutive victory in Growden Park last night over the San Diego Waves.
After defeating the Waves 9-1 on Sunday and 10-0 on Monday, Tuesday's game was a bit more dramatic as the Panners were able to hang oun for a 2-1 victory.
The Panners scored both of their runs in the second inning, and then were able to hold off the waves for the remaining 7 to secure the win.
Brett Harris and Hunter Lessard brought in the two runners for the Goldpanners while Tyler Kennedy earned the win on the mound.
He pitched five innings, striking out three and only allowing four hits.
The win brings the Panners up to 3-2 overall this season.
They will continue play tonight against the Waves in game four of a seven game series, which runs through Saturday night.
First pitch is at 7pm.
