FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Chena River Run was held this morning and over 600 Interior runners competed.
The annual 5 kilometer Race began by Woodriver Elementary School and saw the runners embark on a 3.1 mile trail to finish by Pike's Landing.
The top overall is no stranger to winning 5Ks.
Rick Lader took the top spot and broke the 16 minute mark, finishing in 15 minutes and 59 seconds.
Second place belonged to Tobias Albrigtsen with a 16 minute 7 second time while Jacob Walsh took third in 16 minutes and 21 seconds.
The top female finisher was Chloe Conlon who finished in 20 minutes and 28 seconds.
We caught up with Conlon after her finish about the trail conditions and what she has planned next.
"Well my hands were cold the whole time I think they just got feeling back. Other than that it was great, sunny, and a good day for a race. I always do the equinox in September and want to do the Midnight Sun Run and the Santa Clause Half. I try to do the distance running. This is the first 5K I've done in 4-5 years so it was challenging," said Conlon.
