FAIRBANKS, Alaska - North Pole's own Pheonix Copley has been on a roll recently, and has found a new home for at least the next three years.
The 27 year old goalie has signed a three year extension with the Washington Capitals.
Copley has turned into a mainstay between the pipes for the Caps.
This season he has a record of 10-5-3 and has earned a .903 save percentage.
He also went on an unbeaten streak from November 24th through January 9th where he went 6-0-1.
His new contract is worth $3.3 million, averaging out to $1.1 million a year.
Copley spent two seasons with the St. Louis Blues before being traded to Washington last year.
After playing only one game in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons, Copley has found his footing in the NHL.
