North Pole and Eielson wrestling teams take top two spots in Hutchison Meltdown

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Nine Wrestling Squads converged on Hutchison High School this weekend for the annual Hutch Meltdown tournament.
Two teams from just outside city limits took the top two spots with North Pole winning the team title with a team score of 233 points and Eielson taking second with 177.
Palmer took third with 163 points.
The Tournament Champion Patriots were led by Aiden Briggs, who won the 171 pound weight class, Jacob Blanchard and his 285 pound title, and Elizabeth Schumaker in the 125.
The Ravens saw champions in the 140 pound class with Harrison Wall, while also winning the 145 through Joshua Baird.
They won the 160 pound class through Graham Staley while Nephi Tidwell won the 189.
The Girls Wrestlers for the Ravens put on a great performance as well as Jolie Lucas won the 103 pound weight class, Nailah Bealer took the 145, and Debranna Bealer won the 189.
Other champions for our Interior Girls include Lathrop's Autumn Poland, who won the 119 pound girls bracket and her teammate Desarae Matheny won the 160.
Kenya Edwards won the 130 and Kaleiha Ashbury won the 135 for Hutchison.
