FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Another Interior Athlete will be taking their talents to the college level, and they made it official this afternoon.
North Pole Volleyball Player Sydney Teel will be playing for Walla Walla University in the fall.
Teel has been playing for the Patriots for the past four years and was a standout in her senior year.
She was consistently one of, if not the kills leader for the Patriots in each of their games this past year.
She will now be playing for the Walla Walla Wolves, an NAIA program in Washington State who play in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
The Wolves went 0-21 last year, so Teel will be part of the rebuild.
Teel will be going in as an outside hitter and is expected to get some playing time right away.
"Having a school and a coach that really wants you to come play for them and is like consistent in talking with you and I went there and visited them after they invited me and paid for me to go down so that made it interesting. I met all the girls on the team. I'm supposed to be playing right away because they needed a new outside and one of their outsides is leaving so I'm suppose to start playing. It's really exciting, kind of unreal, set a goal and go and finally reach it. I'm beyond blessed to be here right now," said Teel.
