North Pole Triathlon puts locals to the test.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Alaskans pushed their athletic prowess to the limit Saturday with the 7th annual North Pole Triathlon.

The multi-sport event features a 15 hundred meter swim, a 40 kilometer bike ride and concludes with a 10K run.

This year's male winner was 38 year old Mick Bakker, finishing with a total time of 2 hours, 3 minutes and 49 seconds.

The champion in the women's division was Pam Winders, who finished runner-up in last year's event. Winders' clocked in at 2 hours and 24 minutes.

The next race in the arctic triathlon series is the 28th annual Sourdough Triathlon on July 20th.
