North Pole Middle School Students raise thousands of dollars for local organizations in annual Champions for Charity event

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The North Pole Middle School Champions for Charity began their sixth annual McHenry Ball tournament.
This event is designed as a fundraiser for various charities around the Interior.
The month long fundraising competition is made up of teams of up to 14 Students who will earn points based on the amount of money raised.
They also gain points based on how well the teams do in the McHenry Ball tournament.
The Combination of Capture the Flag, Tag, and Dodgeball saw 12 teams compete in this year's tournament, which was won by the Team Positive Force, which was raising money for Foundation Health Partners Hospice Services.
Those kids on the Positive Force Team also led the fundraising efforts, bringing in an incredible $2,502 dollars for the Hospice Service, a record for the tournament.
Dodgin' for wishes brought in $1,791 for Make-A-Wish, Cause for Paws raised 1,725 for Noble Paws, and the Ninja Dodgers raised $1,515 for The Alzheimers Resource of Alaska.
These numbers aren't final yet and we will update you with the total for all the teams this year when they become available.
