FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The results are in for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference pre-season polls and we now know where the conference coaches think each team will finish.
In the men's poll, the Nanooks were picked to finish ninth in the 11 team conference.
Each head coach submitted a vote, putting all 11 teams in the order they think will finish in the conference.
Those placements are taken as a point-total and calculated for a final placement.
The Nanooks received 37 points in the voting, 8 points in front of Concordia and 3 behind Central Washington.
The team predicted to finish at #1 was Saint Martin's, who earned 118 points off of nine first place votes.
The Nanook Women were picked to finish in 11th place, receiving 12 points.
The top squad was Northwest Nazarene, who finished with 116 points thanks to 6 first place votes.
Both of our basketball teams will be in action for the first time under new coaches when their seasons start in early November.
The Women's Basketball team will be in action first, they will host their annual Alumni Game this Saturday at 3pm in the Patty Center.
