Nanook basketball teams fall to conference opponents

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Basketball teams were in action on Saturday.
Here at home the Nanook Women fell to the Saint Martin's Saints 83-74.
The Saints jumped out to a 26-7 lead and the Nooks were never able to fight back from that, despite strong performances in the third and fourth quarters.
Saint Martin's was led by a 19 point night from Makenna Schultz while Emily Evans led the Nooks with 17.
Marian Wamsley earned a double-double for the home team, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Sabrina Ungaro earned with 8 assists.
The Nanook Men also suffered a loss, theirs on the road to the Simon Fraser Clan, who won 88-55.
Julian Roche led the Clan with 19 points while the Nooks saw a 22 point performance from Tymoryae Glover.
Both teams will be on the road this week, the men against Western Oregon, and the women against Simon Fraser.
