FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Both the Men's and Women's Basketball teams for the University of Alaska were in action on Saturday.
Here at home, the Nanook women finished play in the Northstar Invitational Crossover tournament.
They ended their tournament stay with a 67-49 loss to the University of Tampa.
The Nooks fell into a bit of a whole in this one, being outscored 27-9 in the first quarter and 18-4 in the second.
They were able to end on a high-note however, outscoring their opponents 18-10 in the third and 18-12 in the fourth.
Unfortunately for the Nooks, the deficit was too much to overcome.
The Nooks had two players break the double-digit barrier as Sabrina Ungaro tied for the game-high with 15 points.
Marian Wamsley added 10 while also leading the team in rebounds with 9 and Kaylyn Kelly dished out 3 assists.
The loss will bring the Nanooks down to 3-3 overall this year.
They will have their first conference game on Thursday in Nampa Idaho against the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks.
