Nanook Women fall in home contest

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Nanook Women's Basketball team hosted a Great Northwest Athletic Conference battle last night against the Seattle Pacific Falcons.
Seattle Pacific was victorious in a 62-55 effort.
After a hard-fought first half, the Nanooks held a 29-25 lead.
SPU battled back to outscore the Nooks 21-16 in the third quarter to head into the final 10 minutes with a 46-45 lead.
They then outscored the Nooks 16-10 in the fourth to secure the win.
Hailee Bennett led SPU with 18 points while the Nanooks were led by Marian Wamsley, who finished with 12.
She secured a double-double by also pulling down 10 rebounds.
Emily Evans and Sabrina Ungaro both finished with 11 points while Kylie Wallace dropped 10.
Evans was also the assist leader, finishing with 5, while Wallace earned 4 steals.
The loss drops the Nanooks down to 3-12 overall and 0-9 in conference play.
They'll have a chance to halt their 31 game conference losing streak when they host the Saint Martin's Saints on Saturday.
