Nanook Volleyball team falls to Dominican

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Last night down in the golden state, Alaska's lady nooks came face to face with the states Dominican university, in their next matchup of the west region showcase. Dominican made it their second win of the season with UAF falling 1-3 in four sets.
The teams clashed with Alaska taking the first step with 25 to 21, then lost the momentum with 20 to 25, 28 to 30 and their fourth at 22 to 25. Statistically speaking both teams performed on average with Dominican taking 72 to 60 point 5 points, 54 to UAF's 46 kills, 9 to 5 aces and 53 to 44 assists.
UAF matched the opponent at blocks with 9 to 9 and took the digs by a nose with 78 to 77.
Lahra Weber led UAF in kills with 24 in total. Tatum Upchurch, Mica Shenglen and Lahra gained two aces each. Kim Wong led in blocks with 5. Cate Whitling made 44 assists and Makena Overbey led the team with 26 digs.
