Nanook Volleyball swept by 8th ranked Western Washington

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Volleyball team faced some tough competition on the road last night.
They were in Bellingham Washington going toe to toe with the 8th ranked team in the country, the Western Washington Vikings.
Western earned a clean sweep in this one, defeating the Nooks in three sets.
The Vikings took the first set 25-19, the second 25-15, and the third 25-19.
Three different players for Western Washington earned 10 kills to lead the team in that category.
This was the 10th win in a row for the Vikings who are 10-3 overall.
They are the top team in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a 5-0 GNAC record.
Lahra Weber led the Nooks in kills with 13 while Cate Whiting passed out 27 assists.
Defensively, Whiting also earned double-digit digs, finishing the game with 12, while Makena Overbey led the team with 16.
Emily Moorhead and Kim Wong led the team in blocks with 4.
The Nooks fall to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in GNAC play.
They will look to get back on the winning side of things on Saturday in British Colombia when they face the Simon Fraser Clan.
