Nanook Volleyball falls in Concordia

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Volleyball team did not have an ideal start to their latest road trip, which opened last night with a game against the Concordia Cavaliers.
The Cavs won this contest in three sets.
They took the first 25-19, the second 25-22, and the third 25-21.
The Cavs were led by double-digit kills from two different players as Jessica Wheeler earned 11 and Katelyn Brandenberg finished with 10.
The Nanooks saw a pair earn of players earn double-digit kills as well with Markie Miller earning 13 and Lahra Weber leading the team with 16.
Weber was also the team-leader in Digs, finishing with 13.
The Nooks got 33 assists from Cate Whiting while Kim Wong earned 7 blocks.
The loss drops the Nooks down to 10-12 overall and 8-7 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
After being swept in Portland, the Nanooks will now make the short trip to Monmouth Oregon where they will take on the West Oregon Wolves, who are currently 6-16 overall and 3-12 in conference play.
