Nanook Swim team signs recruit for 2019 season

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Now that all of the university teams are done for the year, that means that recruiting season is in full swing.
The Nanook Swim team announced their newest recruit who will be joining the team in the fall. ​
Tori Shoemaker from Savannah Georgia signed her NLI to swim for the Nooks next year. ​
Shoemaker is accomplished in middle distance, distance, and open water swimming. ​
She specializes in the 500 yard freestyle, 200 yard breastroke, and 400 yard individual medley. ​
In her senior season, Shoemaker took fourth in the 500 yard free and sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke at the Georgia State Swimming Championships. ​
She also competed in the Open Water Zone Championships as a part of the Georgia Coastal Aquatics team and was the 5K champion in the POWER Open Water Challenge in Florida in 2016.
