FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Another extremely busy team this offseason has been the Nanook Swim team, who are building the first class under head coach Becca Weiland.
The Nooks grabbed another talent from the 49th state, bringing in Sitka's Kyleigh McArthur.
McArthur has earned three Alaska School Activities Association Championships at the high school level.
This past season, she competed in each of the Girls relay races and took home the state title in the 200 yard medley.
She also led the wolves to a second place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
Individually, McArthur finished sixth in the 50 yard freestyle race, helping lead the Wolves to second place in the overall team standings.
She has appeared in 13 State Championship races in her four years in Sitka, and placed within the top ten in eight of those.
She will be studying Fishers and Ocean Sciences at UAF and will be joining her sister Whitney on the swim team.
