FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Nanook swim team began their stay in La Mirada California for the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference Championships.
After competing in three events, the Nooks are currently in second place with 174 points.
The night was eventful for the Nooks, who won their first conference title since 2015.
They won the 200 yard medley relay with a 1 minute 44 second time, outpacing the second place Fresno Pacific by .05 seconds.
Coincidentally, that conference title in 2015 was also won through the 200 yard medley relay.
Individually, the Nanooks saw a pair of top-10 finishes from senior Swimmers.
Sierra Kinworthy took seventh out of the 29 competitors in the thousand yard freestyle.
Cassidy Heaton then took ninth in the same event.
The PCSC Championships will run through the next few days, with the finals being held on Saturday.
