Nanook Skier earns RMISA Weekly honor

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Ski Team competed in the Montana State University Invitational over the weekend, and one Nanook Skier was able to earn a podium finish.
Senior Kati Roivas finished in third place in the 15 kilometer mass start race on Saturday out of the field of 30 women.
She finished the race in 53 minutes and 5 seconds, finishing just 14 seconds behind second place, and 5 seconds ahead of fourth.
Roivas was named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association's skier of the week for her efforts over the weekend, which also saw her finish fourth in the in the 5k individual start on Friday.
She is the first Nanook Skier to earn a weekly honor since Anne-Tine Markset back in February of 2016.
Roivas and the rest of the Nanooks will now prepare for another invitational on February 2nd down in New Mexico.
