FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook rifle team has officially been selected to compete in the 2019 NCAA Rifle Championships.
The NCAA Coed Rifle Committee announced the eight teams who will compete in this year's Championships, and the Nanooks earned the #8 seed.
Teams were chosen based on the overage of their three highest regular season aggregate scores, which were then added to the scores from the NCAA Qualifiers.
The Nooks will be going up against TCU, Kentucky, the host school West Virginia, Air Force, Murray State, Navy, and Army.
The Champion will be the team with the highest total score from the Air Rifle and Smallbore events.
The Nanooks, who last won an NCAA title in 2008, will be looking for their 11th National Championship in team history.
