Nanook Hockey ties with Bowling Green, Earns extra WCHA point in double OT

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks Hockey program looked to bounce back from their Game One loss to the Bowling Green Falcons and they finally found their offense.
Game Two was a lot better for Alaska as they finally scored a goal 53 seconds into the first period with Josh Gresh finding the back of the net.
Minutes later the Nooks gave up a short hander to Bowling Green, but responded with two power play goals from Tristan Thompson and Tyler Cline.
The Nanooks were up 3 to 1, but after Bowling Green dropped in 2 goals the game went into overtime, then double overtime.
Kylar Hope scored the game winner to give Alaska the much needed joy after the 8-oh drumming from Friday night.
Alaska's record now stands at 9-13-2 and 2 with 31 points in the WCHA.
They return home this week to face the top team in the conference which is the sixth ranked Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks.
They are 19-4-1 and 1 with 59 points and roll into Fairbanks unbeaten in their past six matches, this series begins Friday at 7 P.M. at the Carlson Center for the last home series of the season.
