FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After a massive upset on Friday night, the Alaska Nanook Hockey team fell short against the top ten ranked Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday Night.
The Falcons were victorious in a 2-0 effort.
Bowling Green was able to put the first goal of the night on the board nearly two minutes into the first period.
That would be the only score until there were only 35 seconds left in the game, where Bowling Green sealed the deal with an empty netter from Brandon Cruse.
Max Johnson added the other goal for the Falcons while their goaltender Eric Dop earned 31 saves and a shutout.
The Nanooks are now 6-16-2 overall and 6-11-1-1 in conference play.
That's the exact same WCHA record as the Alabama Hunstville Chargers, meaning that those two teams are tied for seventh in the conference.
They will face each other this weekend in a battle for positioning in the WCHA.
