Nanook Hockey Team suffers sweep to Minnesota State

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanook Hockey team came up empty in their weekend road-trip against the Minnesota State Mavericks.
The Mavs secured the sweep with a 3-1 victory on Saturday.
The Nanooks actually got on the board first with a goal from Max Newton four minutes into the game.
Unfortunately, that would be the last time the Nooks lit the lamp as Minnesota State responded with a pair of Powerplay Goals within two minutes of eachother to take the lead at the end of the first.
They then put the Nooks away for good with a goal 14 minutes into the final frame.
The Nanooks now fall to 0-7-1 overall and 0-2 in WCHA play heading into a bye week.
After a rest this weekend, the Nooks will be playing on the road yet again.
They will be visiting the Lake Superior State Lakers for a weekend series on November 9th and 10th in Michigan.
