Nanook Hockey Team dominates Simon Fraser in exhibition contest

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - If this Saturday's Exhibition contest between the Alaska Nanooks and the Simon Fraser Clan was any indication, then we are in for a fun hockey season.
The Nooks defeated Simon Fraser 13-1.
The Home Team was dominant in this game, scoring 5 goals in the first period, 4 in the second, and 4 more in the third.
Team Captain Nikolas Koberstein was the scoring leader, finishing the day with a goal and five assists for 6 points.
Chad Staley and Colton Leiter both finished the day with two goals and an assist, while Tyler Cline and Kylar Hope earned two assists and a goal.
Former Fairbanks Ice Dog Sam Ruffin was able to make the most of his first game in the Carlson Center, earning a hat trick by scoring three goals in 2 minutes to close out the contest.
Goaltenders Anton Martinsson, Niko Dellamaggiore, and Gustavs Grigals split time between the pipes for the Nanooks where they combined for 24 saves.
The lone goal for the Clan was scored by Austin Adam in the third period.
The Nanooks will now begin regular season play on the road.
They will travel to Tempe Arizona for a two game series against the Arizona State Sun Devils this Friday and Saturday.
