FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Both of our UAF Basketball teams had rough Saturdays.
Here at home the Women's team was defeated 74-59 by the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets.
The Nooks actually jumped out to a 32-29 lead after the first half, but MSUB outscored them in the final two quarters to secure the win.
Kylie Wallace was once again the scoring leader for the Nooks with 19 points.
That was the 11th loss in a row for the lady Nooks, who will look for their first conference win tomorrow night at Western Oregon.
The Men's team dropped their second straight game when they lost 87-60 to Seattle Pacific on the road.
It was a 40-39 game at halftime but the Falcons were able to overtake the Nanooks in the second half.
Alex Baham led the Nooks in scoring with 19 points.
This loss drops the Nooks to 9-11 overall and 7-7 in conference play.
They are currently tied for 6th place in the GNAC with Northwest Nazarene.
They will have a chance to take over that #6 position when they take on Central Washington tomorrow night at the Patty Center.
The top six teams will make it into the Conference Championship Tournament at the end of the year, so the Nanook Men have 6 games left to claim that final playoff spot.
