Nanook Basketball teams continue skid with losses to conference opponents

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - It was another tough night for the Alaska Nanook Basketball teams, who both fell on the road to conference opponents.
The Nanook Men lost to the Western Oregon Wolves 94-78.
Western secured the win with strong performances in both halves, outscoring the Nooks 41-35 in the first and 53-43 in the second.
Dalven Brushier led the Wolves with 22 points while the Nanooks saw a 25 point night from Spencer Sweet.
Tymoryae Glover also chipped in 20 points while Michael Kluting led the team in rebounds with 10.
The Nooks are now 4-14 overall and 1-10 in GNAC play.
They have lost nine consecutive conference games.
The Women's team was in Canada facing off against the Simon Fraser Clan, falling in an 85-48 effort.
The Simon Fraser defense stifled the Nooks for the entire game, even holding them to 3 points in the entire second quarter.
Sophie Swant led the Clan with 20 points while Ashlie Blackburn led the Nooks with 11.
That extends the conference losing streak to 32 games as the Nanook women fall to 3-14 overall and 0-11 in conference play.
Both Basketball teams will be playing on the road again this Saturday, the women against Western Oregon, and the men against Concordia.
