Monroe's basketball season opens in triumph

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Monroe's basketball team had an exciting game opening their season against the Glennallen Panthers last night; a match that ended triumphantly in the Catholic school's favor. The Ram's ended their night with a 58-41 win.
The game saw many points in game-time where the Ram's were close to losing their lead, such as the three-point play at 3 minutes left in the third quarter by the Panther's own Gabe Jones, but the Ram's stayed vigilant and did not let this ground the energy they had. This also opened up for the Ram's Austin Clarkson to nail a free-throw and Gabe Silas to slam a 3 point shot, securing a 4 point lead over the Panthers.
The one thing warranting stress was the Ram's consistent tampering in fouls. By the end of the game the Rams had managed 21 fouls, including one that doubled-up two of the Ram's players near the end of the match, who accumulated 5 fouls each. This got on management's nerves but didn't pull away from the fact that the Ram's dominated with a 17 point lead.
