Monroe and West Valley Volleyball teams prepare for State Tournaments

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Volleyball Championships are scheduled for this Thursday through Saturday and will be held at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
Two of our Interior Teams will be heading south, with hopes of bringing back a state title.
We'll start with the 3A Bracket, where the Monroe Catholic Rams will have a first round Matchup against the Nome-Beltz Nanooks.
Monroe finished the season as the Aurora Conference runner-ups this year, falling to the Valdez Buccaneers in their regular season finales and the Conference Championship Game.
The Rams will take on Nome Thursday at 11:45am.
The Aurora Conference Champion Buccaneers will play Homer in their first round matchup, while Nikiski will play Barrow, and the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves will face the Grace Christian Grizzlies.
Now looking at the 4A tournament, the Mid Alaska Conference Champion West Valley Wolfpack will take on the Soldotna Stars on Thursday at 1:30pm.
Other first round matchups from the 4A Bracket will see Wasilla and South Anchorage kick off the tournament at 10am.
The Undefeated Dimond Lynx will take on Colony, and the Thunder Mountain Falcons will take on the West Anchorage Thunderbirds.
Both Brackets are Double-Elimination with the Championship games set for Saturday.
The 3A Title game will be at 2pm, and the 4A at 5.
