Monroe Hockey gets past North Pole in 5-1 Victory

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Hockey season is in full swing and continued yesterday at the big dipper Ice Arena where the Monroe Catholic Rams took on the North Pole Patriots in a Non-Conference Contest.
The Rams, a 3A member of the Greatland Conference, were able to defeat the Patriots, who were representing the Mid Alaska Conference.
The Rams took home the 5-1 victory.
Silas Hughes led the Rams in scoring with a goal and three assists.
Evan Fritze was able to light the lamp twice, while Lane Lannet and Ryan Michel both scored once.
Rams Goaltender Jaden Pasillas, who is the only Goalie on their roster, finished the day with 12 saves to help Monroe secure the victory.
Travis Siebels scored the lone goal for the Patriots in the third period off of assists from Daniel Crutcher and Jesse Keith.
Patriots Goaltender Moses Halbert was under fire for the entire game, saves.
The win moves the Rams to 3-1 on the year while the Pats will fall to 1-3.
Up next for these two squads, the Rams, along with Lathrop High School, will be competing down in the Palmer Tournament starting tomorrow.
The Patriots will get a bit of a break until next Tuesday the 14th when they will once again take on Monroe.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for High School Hockey.
The Hutchison Tournament will kick off at the Patty Center.
The Delta Huskies will take on Tri-Valley at 4:30pm, and Bartlett will face Hutchison at 6:45.
