was a great day for our interior teams playing here at home.
It all started at Kiwanis Field where the Monroe Catholic Rams were hosting the Seward Seahawks.
This was a game that many Monroe players were looking forward to before the season started.
The Rams avenged their loss from a year ago, shutting out the Seahawks for a 15-0 victory.
The first drive saw a 19-yard field goal by Rams kicker Jordan Higbee.
The Rams got on the board again with 79 yard touchdown pass from Trae Puryear to Yadiel Ortiz to give Monroe a 9-0 lead after the first quarter.
The game then became a defensive battle as there were no scores until 58 seconds left in the game when Josh Gray ran in a 1-yard touchdown.
Gray finished the day with 72-yards and a score while Puryear threw for 103 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The Rams are now 3-3 on the year and will travel down to Valdez for a conference battle this weekend.
