Monroe Catholic baseball overcomes slow start to defeat Hutch

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Baseball season continued last night with a Mid Alaska Conference Contest between the Hutchison Hawks and Monroe Catholic Rams.
Monroe overcame a slow start to take home a 10-1 victory. ​
Hutchison was the only team to score in the first three innings by hanging up a run in the bottom of the first. ​
Monroe found their groove in the fourth inning where they registered three runs. ​
They then added one in the fifth, two in the sixth, and four more in the seventh. ​
Gabe Silas led the offense for Monroe, finishing with three RBIs and a score on two hits. ​
Jake Footit earned the win on the mound by allowing one hit in 5.2 innings pitching and Silas pitched an inning of perfect relief. ​
Mason Young scored the lone Hutch run off of an RBI from Isaac Roehl.
Also last night out in Delta Junction, the West Valley Wolfpack were victorious over the Delta Huskies in a 9-4 effort. ​
The next baseball action in City limits will see Hutchison and North Pole play in a double-header tonight, while Lathrop will host Eielson.
