Monroe Catholic and West Valley baseball teams victorious in Thursday MAC-tion

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - While hundreds lined up at the Carlson Center to watch Comedy last night, there was a pair of Mid Alaska Conference baseball games taking place right next door.
The Monroe Catholic Rams were victorious over the Lathrop Malemutes, taking home a 5-2 win. ​​
Koa Rosales was the RBI leader for the Rams, finishing with two. ​
Pearson Clark finished with an RBI and a score while finishing at 2 for 4 at the plate. ​
Jagan Nautiyal led Lathrop with two RBIs. ​
Pearson Clark pitched five innings for Monroe, striking out 7 batters and only allowing 2 hits. ​
Gabe Silas stepped in for the final two innings and didn't allow a hit. ​
In the next field over, West Valley defeated Hutchison 9-7. ​
The Wolfpack scored all of their runs in the first four innings to build a 9-2 lead. ​
Hutchison wasn't quite done yet and was able to nearly erase that deficit with a run in the fifth and four more in the sixth inning. ​
However, West Valley was able to halt that rally, holding Hutch scoreless in the seventh to secure the win. ​
Shaun Conwell was the offensive leader for the Wolfpack, finishing with 3 RBIs on 2 hits. ​
Andrew Troppman earned the win on the mound, striking out nine batters in five innings of work.
