Monroe Catholic Football team to bring in Tri Valley Students

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Next year the Monroe Catholic Football team will have an influx of new players.
The Rams will be combining with Tri-Valley.
This is beneficial to both schools as the Rams were worried about having enough players to field a team, and Healy has been wanting to start a team in Tri-Valley for years.
Last year Monroe Catholic graduated a large number of seniors, leaving them with just nine players on their roster.
They will still be competing in the Aurora Conference at the Division 3 Level this year as all players will be competing under the Monroe Catholic banner.
All students from Tri-Valley, though, still have to adhere to their own school's academic requirements.
These will be the first ever football players for Tri Valley.
After gaining new players from about 100 miles away, we spoke with head coach Marcus Cogley about the newest evolution of Monroe Catholic Football.
"We're really excited, one of the biggest things we're excited for is to combine with Tri-Valley and extend a lot of their student athletes a chance to play football. It's been in the works kind of for 10 years so far as them having their own team and it seemed like never quite happened. So when they came and talked with us a couple months ago we were really excited to provide them with an opportunity as well as kind of get some more numbers with our own program, so something that just benefited both of us a lot," said Cogley.
