Monroe Catholic Baseball evens up record with back-to-back blowouts

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Baseball season resumed last night, and the Monroe Catholic Rams have gotten their season back on track in a big way.
The Rams earned their first win of the season with a dominant 11-0 win over the previously undefeated Delta Huskies.
Tommy Bast led the offensive efforts for Monroe with two RBIs and two scores while Izak Lohrke was a monster on the mound, pitching the entire 5 innings and not allowing a single hit.
This win brought Monroe up to 1-2 on the season.
They wouldn't stay at that record for long as they dominated another Mid Alaska Conference opponent this afternoon.
The Rams defeated the Eielson Ravens 22-3.
They scored 5 runs in the first, 7 in the second, 8 in the third, and finished them off with 2 runs in the fourth.
Gabe Silas went 2 for 3 at the plate with four RBIs and three scores.
We caught up with some of the Rams after their victory over Delta about how they feel now that their season is back on track.
"We really got the bats going. Aiden had a great hit at the end of the game. I think we just really did a great job one through nine," said Bast.
"We hadn't been hitting the ball well at all, then to score ten runs and not give up any is a huge confident booster, a huge tune-up. So we'll be feeling good," said Lohrke.
