FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Another standout on the Lathrop Football team signed his National Letter of Intent yesterday to play at the college level.
Corbin Tomaszewski will be taking his talents to Colorado Mesa University.
He was a standout on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Malemutes, earning the Railbelt Conference lineman of the year honor after his senior season.
He was also a first team All-Conference and all-state selection on both sides of the ball this year, earning a spot as a tackle on offense and interior lineman on Defense.
The 6'4" 260 pounder will now be heading to Colorado Mesa, an NCAA Division 2 program, where he will play offensive line.
"I did a couple visits to other colleges, Eastern New Mexico and things like that. But the second I stepped onto campus at Colorado Mesa I just felt at home. I just felt this peace inside me, like, 'this is where I need to go and this is where I could be great.' It really means a lot to me to be able to see everyone in here and for you all to come and support me. I've had an amazing time playing the past couple of years here and it's all thanks to you guys. You pushed me to the level I'm at to be able to go down to the lower 48 and show them what's up with Alaska," said Tomaszewski.
