FAIRBANKS, Alaska - We had our first Wrestling signing of the year in the Interior.
Andrue Shepersky signed his National Letter of Intent to Southwestern Oregon College.
Shepersky, who transferred to Lathrop from Wasilla, is a two time state Champion.
While wrestling for the Warriors in 2017 he captured the 152 pound title at the State Championships.
He picked up right where he left off when he joined Lathrop in 2018, winning the state crown in the 160 pound weight class.
He will now be joining the Southwestern Oregon Lakers, a Community College in Coos Bay Oregon.
We talked to Andrue after he signed about why he chose Southwestern, and what he looks to bring to the next level.
"Well I visited a lot of colleges and it kind of felt like the right fit and more like a vibe for things that stuck out in the colleges, like the colleges that had good workout rooms and everything so it's kind of hard to choose on that, but the overall feeling from the college gave me really good vibes and everything. Honestly I'm not there to like, have a big light on me or anything but I can work hard and everything in college," said Shepersky.
