Lady nooks take on Layola in swim meet

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Patty Center has been hosting a conflict between two rival swim teams since yesterday, The Lady nooks and their competitor, Layola Marymount.
In the 400 yard medley relay the Nooks took it by a time of 3:59, with the help of Erika Kakazu, Kaia Norbye, Oda Bygdnes and Wanlaya Jarupakorn. For the 50 yard free, Norbye took it at a time of 24 seconds. UAF's Bygdnes placed in a streak of events starting with the 200 yard individual relay at a time of 2:10, and then going right into the following event, the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56 seconds. Ranked at number 1 last night was UAF's Kakazu, who placed in the following event, the 100 yard backstroke at a time of 1:00. Cassidy Heaton of UAF took the 500 yard free race with a time of 5:17 and in the final individual event, the 100 yard breaststroke, Norbye slammed first place with a time of 1:07. The two competitors meet today in their second of the dual matchup once more at the Patty Center.
