Lady Nooks Basketball misses the mark against Gannon falling 3-2

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - For the lady nooks in the world of basketball last night, their match wasn't as close but just as valiantly fought. Gannon put Alaska to bed at 74-65, going up on standings to 4-2 and leaving the nooks at 3-2.
Marian Wamsley led Alaska at 21 points and 9 rebounds with 9 for 14 from the floor and 3 for 4 from the free throw line. Emily Evans followed just behind with 19 points and 2 rebounds, 6 for 14 from the field, 3 for 8 from beyond the arc and 4 for 14 from the free throw line.
As a team, Alaska claimed a .400 field goal percentage as well as a .800 free-throw average, in contrast to Gannon's .529 field goal percentage and .667 free throw average.
Alaska faces the University of Tampa's Spartans today at the Alaska Airlines court.
