Joe T Classic Day One: Monroe earns Sweep against Kodiak while Lathrop splits with Kenai

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The seventh annual Joe T. Classic tipped off last night at Lathrop High School.
The tournament started with the Monroe Catholic Rams taking on the Kodiak Bears.
In the girl's game, Kodiak was victorious by a score of 41-36.
Avery Kreischer led Kodiak with 14 points, while Katie Bast dropped 16 for the Rams.
In the Boys game, Monroe was victorious, winning 49-40.
Isaac Garcia led both teams in scoring with 16 points.
The final set of games for the night saw the host school, Lathrop, host the Kenai Kardinals.
The Lathrop Girls won their battle with a 49-40 effort.
Ella Roberts was the scoring leader in this one, finishing with 17 points.
And in the boy's game, Kenai won in overtime, earning a 75-72 victory.
Adam Trujillo led the Kards in scoring with 25 points while the Malemutes were led by 15 points from Tyriq Luke.
The Joe T Classic will continue tonight, with our two interior teams squaring off.
