Interior teams wrap up State Soccer stays

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The State Soccer Tournament continues to roll on, but all of our interior teams are now playing in the Consolation Bracket.
The West Valley boys fell in the state Semi-finals to the West Anchorage Eagles. ​
This was a tough 1-0 contest, which saw West Anchorage score the only goal of the game off of a penalty kick in the 14th minute. ​
This was the first loss of the year for the Wolfpack Boys, sending them down to the third place game against Service.​
Service was able to defeat the Wolfpack 2-0 to bring an end to their tournament tenure. ​
West Valley will now finish the year at fifth place in the Division 1 Boys Bracket. ​
The Wolfpack Girls defeated Service 2-1 in the semi-finals of the consolation bracket, to advance to the fourth place game against West Anchorage this morning. ​
The Eagles took fourth by a score of 1-0, meaning that the Wolfpack girls finished sixth in the state. ​
And in the Division 2 Brackets, the Monroe Boys also advanced to the consolation final, defeating Palmer 3-1 last night. ​
In this morning's fourth place game, the Rams fell 1-0 to Homer, bringing an end to their first ever state tourney run. ​
And last but certainly not least, the North Pole girls also advanced to the fourth place game, where they lost in a 3-2 heartbreaker to the Homer Mariners. ​
The State Championship games are now set for tonight.
The Division 1 boys bracket will see West Anchorage play Colony, while South and Dimond will meet for the D-1 Girls championship. ​
And at the Division 2 level, Juneau-Douglas and Kenai will meet for the boys championship, while the Juneau Girls will play Soldotna.
