FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A more recent 4th of July tradition has emerged in the Interior.
For the third consecutive year, the Guns 'N Hoses softball game was played out in North Pole earlier today.
This year, the Eielson Fire Department and the North Pole Police Deparment squared off for a contest with bragging rights and a trophy on the line.
Chief of Police Steve Dutra says it is a fun event to get the departments' families together for the Fourth of July.
This year, EFD took home the trophy, but the Police Department says they'll be looking to take home the hardware in next year's event.
