Iditarod CEO announces resignation

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Iditarod Trail Committee announced earlier today that their longtime CEO Stan Hooley has resigned from his position.
Hooley first joined the Iditarod in 1993 and has served the race ever since.
However, he is no longer able to hold the position after accepting a new opportunity that will take him out of the state for extended periods of time for several years.
A search committee has been formed to find the new CEO for the Trail Committee, and the board of directors is developing a transition strategy.
Hooley will continue his current work until mid-January.
Chas St. George, the current Chief Operating Officer for the ITC, will serve as the interim until a new CEO is found.
