Ice Dogs Rally, secure win with 5-goal third period

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After dropping the opening game of their series against the Corpus Christi Ice Rays, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs pulled off a shocking comeback to stun the Rays and secure a 6-3 victory on Saturday.
Corpus Christi held a 2-1 lead heading into the third period, but five goals from the home team in the final frame secured the come from behind win.
Team Captain Grant Ledford led the Dogs in scoring with two goals, while Luke Mobley, John Stampohar, Parker Brown, and Jack Johnston also lit the lamp.
Johnston, Matt Koethe, Tanner Edwards, and Jonathan Sorenson all finished with two assists.
Goaltender Nate Reid stopped 27 out of the 30 shots fired his way in his 60 minutes between the pipes.
The Dogs are now 22-14-3-2 overall and second place in the NAHL Midwest Division with 49 points. They'll be in action at home again this weekend against the Topeka Pilots.
